Boys

Emmanuel Eafford from Lee County swept the Sprints w/ National Elite times.

Lowndes Boys scored 89 points led by hurdler Benjamin Wright's sweep first in the 110h (15.42) and later the 300h (39.51) The Vikes ruled distance events scoring 40 points sparked by Chance Roe's win in the 1600m (4:34) and 2nd in the 800m (2:01) Other big scorers for the Vikings were Kaleb Wolfeden running for a pair of 2nds in the 1600 and 3200. The 4x400 relay squad clinched the title winning in 3:29.

Lee County's Emmanuel Eafford swept the 100-200 Sprints for the Trojans with National Elite times of 10.74/21.95. Malik Henry of Tift County had a nice LJ mark at 22-3, Chase Harris of the host Bearcats took the 3200 in 10:19, Colquitt County displayed some of that winning Football speed taking down the 4 x 100 (42.29)

Girls

T'Ville's Maghony Walter (l) and Monroe's Jahari Williams (c) both had HUGE meets in Bainbridge

Monroe's Girls look to have improved from last season displaying speed and more speed and swept the top 2 spots in the 800m run (dash). The Lady Tornadoes also scored big out on the Field in the Throws and Horizontal Jumps. In all, Monroe racked up 4 National Elite performances signaling huge potential to score at State.

Jahari Williams had a pair of NE times placing 2nd in the 100 (12.12) and 200m (24.88) and swooped out to 18-4.5 in the LJ Sweeping the 800m race were Deaundria Anderson (2:29) and frosh Naila Harris (2:35) Ashley Harrell scored 18 points in the Throws with a NE mark of 129-8 in the Discus. Frosh Jada Hunt sped to a 58.88 winning the 400m and the relay squads cashed in with a pair of 2nd's behind Lincoln in great early season form at 48.72/4:04 Frosh (yes, another one) Isis McVay hurdled well placing 2nd and 3rd respectively in the 100h/300h.

Also having excellent outings were the Thomasville duo of Thrower Danisha Jones and Sprinter Mahogony Walter who led the Dawgs to a 3rd place team finish.. Jones won the Shot with a heave of 39-4.5 and took 2nd in the Discus (120-0) Walter (who was AA runnerup at Girls State) had a pair of Elite times in the 100/200m going 12.14/24.78 and was 2nd in the HJ (5-2) Erica Edwards from crosstown rival Thomas Central had a bar of 5-4 winning the HJ.
