In this installment in the Jamar Marshall Stories series, we share the complete (edited) interview with St. Mary's HS hurdles coach John Johnson. Coach Johnson, a former world class hurdler, talks to us about Jamar's development, training toward Jamar's State Meet title-winning 13.31 performance and his CA record 13.22 at the 2019 U20s. He also discusses the big goals they had for 2020. These interviews were conducted on March 6, less than a week before the season was interrupted as a result of the coronavirus pandemic and eventually canceled.
