The top 3 fastest times in the country were posted this weekend in succession starting with Carlos Villarreal's 14:49 win at the Desert Twilight Classic in Arizona on Friday night to take over the national lead temporarily. Villarreal's smoking time under the lights was followed by a 14:46 dominant showing and 26 second margin of victory at Great American on Saturday by Andrew Hunter to move him to the US #1 time in the 5K. Finally, the Saucony Flo50 #1 ranked runner in the country, Grant Fisher of Grand Blanc in Michigan, nearly took down the great Dathan Ritzenhein's meet record at the Portage Invitational with a PR and nation's best 5K time of 14:43.
