Haines City junior Amuru Patterson opened up eyes all season when she ran 11.57w at the Pre-State and followed that up with wind legal times of 11.63 and 11.64 at district and regionals and 23.85 in the 200 at the same regional meet. Patterson went onto win her first two state titles, capturing gold in the 100 and 200m dash for class 4A. Seventh Grade Sprinter Tamari Davis Isn't Afraid Of Flo Golden South Field Todd Grasley May 25, 2016

Tamari Davis is only a 7th grader, but Saturday she will line up next to girls four and five years older at Flo Golden South. Davis isn't threatened though, feeling as if she belongs right next to them, and says she's been working hard to run at this meet where she failed to qualify for the finals last year running 12s. We caught up with her Coach Gary Evans to talk about this special athlete and her preparation for the weekend.
