Meet Information:
Meet Director Steve Browning welcomes CIAC coaches and their high school teams of the first 30 schools to submit an Intent to Enter online form to participate in the Jack Long Invitational on Thursday, December 27, 2018 starting at 12:00pm. Interested coaches and invited coaches should submit their Intent to Enter form by 8:00pm on Wednesday, December 12, 2018. Please read the notes for the Team Reservation and Cancellation Fees. The meet is open for registration by CIAC coaches of high school age athletes competing with their high school team who are in grades 9-12. Please make sure to read all meet information and registration details.

The meet is limited to coaches from the Invited schools listed below and the coaches of first 16 schools who submit their Intent to Enter form. The list of Invited schools who must also submit an Intent to Enter Form: Bacon Academy, Canton, Ellington, Glastonbury, Haddam Killingworth, Ledyard, Montville, Norwich Free Academy, Old Saybrook, Southington, Stafford, Terryville, Waterford, Watertown.

Facility:
The meet will be held at the Floyd Little Athletic Center in New Haven, CT. The facility is one of the finest in the Northeast. It is a six lane 200-meter flat track, with 6 lanes on the turns and 7 on the straightaway with a Martin 2000 surface.
Athletes may use pyramid spikes no larger than 3/16th of an inch (no needle spikes allowed).

Registration Procedures and Entry Limits:
Coaches interested in participating in are required to submit an online Intent-to-Enter form at the Meet Registration page by 8:00pm on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 to be eligible for event registration in Athletic.net.
REMINDER: Only coaches of teams listed with Accepted Intent to Enter forms at the meet website are eligible to participate in the meet and make event entries. NOTE: The Athletic.net Attendance Status is updated by EZ Meet Services meet management in a periodic review of Intent to Enter forms. Do not send an email asking for update of confirmation status.

Athletic.net Online Event Entry for Boys and Girls available starting at: 11/29/2018
An athlete may only enter two (2) events. No boy/girl may be entered in more than two (2) events, relays count as event.
Special Event Entry for Triple Jump ONLY at the meet 30 minutes prior to event start. Participation in the triple jump will not be counted against an athlete's event total.
Maximum of four (4) entries per school in each event with exception of 55m Dash, 55m Hurdles and Field Events where there is a maximum of six (6) entries per school.
Schools may enter only 1 team in each relay except 4x400m where B teams are allowed.
One heat each of Boys and Girls 3200m Run will be contested of the top 24 entrants. Entries seeded slower than the 24th entrant will be moved to the 1600m Run.
Deadline for Athletic.net Online Event Entry is 8:00pm on Friday, 12/21/2018.
No day of meet entries. There are no late entries or day of meet entries. Exception is Special Event Entry for Triple Jump ONLY at the meet 30 minutes prior to event start.
EZ Meet Services administers all meet registration in conjunction with the Athletic.net service.
Insurance Information:
As part of your school's participation in the Jack Long Invitational Meet, please have your school district insure your athletes for the amount of $2 million dollars for any injuries incurred between the hours of 11:30 am to 8:00 pm; on December 27th, 2018 at the Jack Long Invitational Meet. Insurance forms should note that the meet is being held in the Floyd Little Athletic Center at 480 Sherman Parkway, in New Haven, Connecticut.

Entry Fees:
Fees: $275 dollars will be charged for each program (boys & girls combined) with 20 or more athletes entered. If a school enters less than 20 total athletes, then the fee is $150.00.
Checks: All checks must be made out to "Bacon Academy" and sent to Bacon Academy by Friday, December 14, 2018. (Send to Steve Browning c/o Bacon Academy, 611 Norwich Avenue, Colchester, CT 06415.)
The meet organizer will pay a timer, starter and athletic trainer. We will also pay for judges to cover the field events. Each program should be ready to contribute one coach to help officiate field events if the meet sponsor needs help.
Team Reservation Fee: Due to the limited capacity for this Indoor meet the Meet Director requires a Team Reservation Fee where if your team doesn't attend the meet and you failed to notify the Meet Director by email by 9pm on Friday 12/14/2018 then payment of $125.00 is required from the school. For teams participating on meet day the fee is included as part of the standard team fee.
Cancellation Fee: In case of that the meet is cancelled due to weather conditions or lack of facility, the host school reserves the right to retain a Cancellation Fee of $25 of the entry fee to pay meet expenses.
Entry fees are charged for entering the meet. You owe the entry fee as detailed in the Entry Fees Checks section for all entries made online. There are No Refunds or reduction of entry fee for scratches or no shows.
Meet Rules:
Coaches, please pay special attention to the following:

To insure a fair and quality meet, CIAC rules will govern all events.
The meet is open to all CIAC high school age athletes competing with their high school team.
Long jump and shot put will be seeded into several flights with athletes getting 3 attempts.
Events will be run in an order to maximize the speed of the meet and avoid conflicts between field events and running events.
There is no scoring or awards in the meet.
Athletes in the 55 Dash can not use blocks.
Athletes in the 55m Hurdles can use blocks.
If an athlete misses an early race because a bus is late, the meet sponsors will attempt to place the athlete in a later race.
Athletes may use pyramid spikes no larger than 3/16th of an inch (no needle spikes allowed).
Coaches and athletes will be asked to stay away from the finish line as there will be a FAT system in use.
