Classic Girls 100m Final - Amaru Patterson Qualifies For Brooks May 28, 2016

Amaru Patterson just edges out Jayla Kirkland by the hundredth in the 100m dash as both athletes ran 11.75.  Who will win the 100m dash and book their ticket to 2017 Brooks PR? This year, Flo Golden South will be a Brooks PR qualifier in four events. We profile American Heritage senior McKinly Brown who owns the most state titles in the field, but might just be the most overshadowed. Brown will also compete in his favorite event the 400m hurdles and has more experience than his competition with the 4th fastest time in the country to his credit.

Haines City junior Amuru Patterson opened up eyes all season when she ran 11.57w at the Pre-State and followed that up with wind legal times of 11.63 and 11.64 at district and regionals and 23.85 in the 200 at the same regional meet. Patterson went onto win her first two state titles, capturing gold in the 100 and 200m dash for class 4A.
