Foot Locker South's Fastest Floridians: Christa Benton (Stephens) Nov 26, 2015

Christa Benton competed in the Foot Locker South Regional three times while in high school at Keswick Christian and was the first Floridian to win an individual title when she accomplished that feat in 2000. The trip marked Benton's second consecutive year attending Foot Locker Nationals. We caught up with her to talk about those memories and what she's been up to the last fifteen years.

Drew Hunter Breaks FL South Record! Seeded Boys Race Nov 28, 2015

Race footage of the Boys' Championship race from Foot Locker South Regional Championship. This race was run in the opening mile by Loudoun Valley senior and Oregon commit Drew Hunter. He opened in 4:26 and followed that by going through the second mile in 9:07. He ultimately finished in 14:26 which broke the previous meet record by 2 seconds. This was six seconds off of his season's best and the Virginia state record. This was a new course record on a longer course (they added roughly 70m).

Kelati & Mareno Battle It Out! FL South Seeded Girls Race Nov 28, 2015

Race footage of the Girls' Foot Locker South Championship Race. This race was won by US #1 Weini Kelati (VA) in 16:42 running one of the fastest times ever despite the 70m addition to the course. US #4 Nevada Mareno (NC) stuck with Kelati for 2 Miles until she pulled away. Libby Davidson who was 6th at FL Nationals last year finished an impressive third in a performance that showed she is back and ready to run at Nationals.

In one of the best races for Florida girls at Foot Locker South Holy Trinity alumni Kayla Hale just misses out on the title and edges out fellow Sunshine State runners Emilie Amaro and Brittany Koziara for the runner-up spot. Amaro and Koziara would all run under 17 minutes as well, the only three Florida runners to ever break that barrier at Foot Locker South. Only three other girls ever in Florida history have achieved times under 17 minutes. Their times rank 5th,6th, and 7th respectively ever at the FL South Regional.  We take a look at the top 500 times by Florida girls.

Foot Locker South's Fastest Floridians - Ashley Brasovan Nov 25, 2015

Ashley Brasovan is one of a handful of Florida athletes to qualify for Foot Locker Nationals in San Diego two times while at Wellington High School. Her time of 17:07 set in 2007 as a junior is the fifth fastest ever by a Floridian at Foot Locker South. Brasovan ran in one of the best Foot Locker South races for Floridians when she finished sixth behind Brittany Koziara (4th), Emile Amero (3rd), and Kayla Hale (2nd). As a senior, she was 4th earning her spot among the nation's best.

Boys' Foot Locker South Top 500 Leaderboard: Cross Coming For Round Two Nov 23, 2015

All year the anticipation has been building up for this weekend's Foot Locker South Regional. Last year, Florida sent two to San Diego in Miami Sunset's Nick Diaz (8th) and Merritt Island's Steven Cross (9th).  Cross returns in 2015 for his senior year as does Brandon Marquez who just missed out placing 11th. See what other Floridians made the list of the top 500 boys times in the Foot Locker South Region. The top 10 individuals will move onto San Diego and Nationals.
