The Mississippi State freshman caps a stellar season that included a third place finish at NCAAs with defense of his USATF Junior title. But Curtis Thompson is not done yet, as he will return at 3pm to compete in the senior-level competition.

Samantha Noennig, 13th Discus - 2015 USATF Jr. Champs Jun 25, 2015

Noennig followed up an All-American performance at New Balance last weekend with a 13th place finish at USATF Juniors. The Wisconsin junior is looking forward to competing at the World Youth Trials in Illinois next week with the hopes of qualifying for the IAAF Championship in Cali, Colombia.

Jackson Van Vuren, 6th Javelin - 2015 USATF Jr. Champs Jun 25, 2015

The Oregon-bound senior pulled his groin on his first attempt, but battled through the pain to improve his throws on the second and third attempts. Van Vuren has competed at Hayward Field five times now, but still feels the magic of the legendary arena.

Haley Showalter, 4th Discus - 2015 USATF Jr. Champs Jun 25, 2015

Showalter throw 160-8 in the Discus to be the first high school finisher in the field with a new personal record. The Colorado State Champ talks about the hammer throw coming up tomorrow (June 26, 2015) as she looks to defend her National title. Showalter also recaps her great four years in HS before heading to the University of Wisconsin in the fall to throw for the Badgers.

Josephine Natrasevschi, 1st Discus - USATF Jr. Champs Jun 25, 2015

The Brown freshman had a break out year finishing 16th at NCAA's throwing 168-7 good enough to earn second team All-American honors. The Colorado native earned 10th at USATF Jr.'s last year as a high school senior. The true freshman holds the Brown, and Ivy League record of 183-9.

Harrison Williams,1st, Day 1 Decathlon-'15 USATF Jr. Champs Jun 25, 2015

All-American Stanford freshman Harrison Williams leads the Jr. Men's field after Day 1 at the USATF Jr. Nationals. He hurt his ankle during the high jump but does not think it will affect his performance tomorrow, as he looks for another 8,000+ point total.

Blake Haney after 1500m Prelim - 2015 USATF Jr Champs Jun 25, 2015

Haney won the first of two Jr. Boys 1500m Prelim Heats in 3:52.65. The University of Oregon runner just finished his freshmen year and placed 3rd at NCAAs. He talks about racing against some of the best high school milers like Grant Fisher and Drew Hunter.

Andrew Hunter after 1500m Prelim - 2015 USATF Jr. Champs Jun 25, 2015

Hunter took second overall in the 1500m prelims with a time of 3:53.29. He finished just behind college freshman Blake Haney. The rising senior has had two impressive weeks. He placed second in the Dream Mile to Grant Fisher, two weeks ago and then came back and beat him last weekend in the Brooks PR 2 Mile. His time of 8:42.51 was good for U.S.#9 All-Time.

Logan Wetzel after 1500m Prelim - 2015 USATF Jr. Champs Jun 25, 2015

Wetzel finished sixth overall taking first in heat two with a time of 3:59.90. Wetzel placed fifth in the dream mile two weeks ago running 4:04.60. This past weekend he anchored two of his teams relays to All-American finishes at New Balance Nationals Outdoor.

Travis Tolliver (TX) 5th through Day 1 of Dec- '15 USATF Jr Cham Jun 25, 2015

The University of Texas commit, Toliver is not only holding his own against the young collegians, but he is 5th after day 1 approaching some of his best events tomorrow. Toliver won the shot put in day 1 of competition and PRed in nearly all of his events.

Curtis Thompson was eager for another workout after winning the Jr. Nationals javelin first thing in the morning. The Mississippi State freshman, who was third at NCAAs, took sixth in the Senior Natls event. He threw nearly identical marks of 237-4 and 237-8 in both competitions.

Ryan Clark after 100m Prelim - 2015 USATF Jr. Champs Jun 26, 2015

US #1 Clark wins his heat with ease in 10.40. The top three times in the next and final prelim were faster including Noah Lyles' 10.29. Lyles beat Clark in the 200m and 100m (Clark false started and was DQed) last weekend at New Balance Nationals. Clark says getting redemption from last weekend is all he's been thinking about this week.

Noah Lyles won the USATF Jr. Nationals Championship in the 200m with a wind legal 20.18 to break a 32-year-old meet record, which is also the fastest junior time in the world this year. He becomes the third fastest high schooler ever, and he equaled the fifth all-time U.S. Junior time and seventh all-time World Junior time.
