As the indoor track and field season approaches, we'll be taking a look at the top boys returners in each event in 2020. Today we're turning our attention to the throws.
The top returner in the boys shot put for the 2019-2020 indoor track season is Bryce Foster, a junior from Katy Taylor High School. Foster threw 62 feet, 1 inch while competing for the All American Throwers Club at the Carl Lewis Invitational and then added a throw of 57-2.5 at the Texas A&M High School Indoor Classic.
Ridgefield High School's (WA) and University of Southern California commit Trey Knight is second on the list with his throw of 61-3.5 from the fourth Super Thrower Indoor Series meet. Knight has thrown over 60 feet in the shot put five times counting his second-best returning mark. He was also fifth last year at New Balance Nationals Indoor. The senior is hands down the best returning weight thrower for the 2019-2020 indoor season. He has the leading mark of 86-7.5 from the Simplot Games--not to mention he is the two-time defending New Balance Nationals Indoor champion in the event.
