A year ago, Devin Roberson's best toss in the discuss was 188 feet, 4 inches.
While he would go on to claim his first Missouri Class 5 Championship for Jefferson City High School, tossing a solid mark of 182-3, he never broke 190 feet.
A year later, though, his fortunes certainly changed.
On his very last throw of Missouri's Class 5 Championship, perfection came at the tip of his fingers, as Roberson launched a nation-leading mark of 218 feet, 4 inches, the fifth of sixth throws he would land over 200 feet in his series, including another bomb of 213-10.
For his efforts, Roberson claimed a Missouri state record and claimed a 30-feet improvement year-over-year. Just one athlete -- Anthony Harrison -- improved more among the country's 25 best discus throwers.
Wondering who else had major improvements? Check out how the nation's best 1,000 throwers in the discus and shot put improved year-over-year below.
