It's been a fast December thus far.
Girls who have run the 60m in 2018 have already run faster--or as fast as--than the previous five seasons when comparing to the same December 1-17 period.
Leading the way so far is Brebeuf Jesuit Prep School's (IN) Semira Killebrew. She's led December performances in the 60m the past two seasons. Last year the University of North Carolina signee ran a time of 7.46 seconds at the Circle Logistic Warrior Invitational. This month she's already run faster, with a 7.42 second time at the same invitational.
Her recent time would have ranked US No. 9 at the end of last season and it's the fastest time this early over the past five indoor seasons. It's also only .01 seconds off of her PR of 7.41, which she achieved at New Balance Nationals Indoor last year.
Beyond Killebrew, take a look at some of the numbers from some of the country's best sprinters.
