DAY ONE FULL RESULTS

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Portland State men and women's track team ended the day with two players sitting in first-place in the 400-meter event as Dominique Maloney and J.J. Rosenberg took the top-spot in their respective events.

Maloney's performance in the 400m was the Vikings' most impressive  one  of the day as the sprinter not only qualified for the Big Sky tournament but set a new Portland State record in the process, tallying a time of 55.72. Maloney bested a record set back in 2006 by Femi Kehinde who posted the previous best of 56.17. Ashley Frazier also turned in a strong effort in the race coming in fourth with a mark of 58.02.

Rosenberg continued his strong start to the 2013 campaign as he registered his first, first-place finish of the season in the 400m. Rosenburg raced to a time of 49.28 just narrowly missing the Big Sky tournament qualifying mark. Jake Ovgard also competed in the event and took 25th with a time of 23.32.

Rosenberg struck again in the 200-meter dash recording a new personal best with a mark of 22.24 and clocked the third-best Portland State time in the process.

Sierra Brooks took the top PSU time in the 200-meter dash with a mark of 25.09 and a 14th-place showing while teammate Anaiah Rhodes came in right behind her with a mark of 25.14.
