  • Boys Championship Race: Edward Cheserek (NJ) won the race with a time of 15:21.8.  Jonathan Green (MA) finished 2nd with a time of 15:36.8 and Shawn Wilson (NJ) was 3rd with a time of 15:42.5.  Joining them in San Diego are Brendan Shearn (PA) 15:45.5, Kyle Kroon (NJ) 15:46, Trevor Crawley (RI) 15:47.3, Max Norris (PA) 15:48.3, Chris Alvarado (CT) 15:49.1, Brent Kennedy (PA) 15:50.9 and Austin Pondel (PA) 15:51. 
  • Girls Championship Race: Catarina Rocha (MA) won the girls race in 17:49.5.  Megan Curham (NJ) was 2nd in 18:08.5 and Katie Lembo (NY) was 3rd in 18:11.  Joining them in San Diego will be Regan Rome (PA) 18:13.3, Anoush Shehaden (NY) 18:15, MacKenzie Barry (NJ) 18:23, Marissa Saenger (NY) 18:31.3, Marisa Ruskan (NJ) 18:31.8, Megan Reilly (NY) 18:35.8, and Kennedy Weisner (PA) 18:36.8.

  • Boys Championship Race: Sean McGorty (Chantilly VA) split with his team to chase a Foot Locker title and looked absolutely splendid.  Sean won the race with a course record time of 14:28! Returning finalist Joshua Brickell (GA) was 2nd with a time of 14:49.  Joining them in San Diego will be Aaron Templeton (TN) 14:54, Jacob Thomson (KY) 14:58, Robert Domanic (TX) 14:58, Brad Hort (GA) 14:59, Quintin McKinnish (TN) 15:00, Noah Gade (OK) 15:03, Simon Holden (GA) 15:04, and Brent Demarest (SC) 15:06.
  • Girls Championship Race: Sophie Chase (VA) won the girls race in a close battle over Karis Jochen (TX) 17:05 to 17:07.  Joining them in San Diego will be Margaret Drazba (WV) 17:10, Alex Davis (OK) 17:11, Carmen Carlos (AL) 17:12, Bridget Blake (FL) 17:12, Sandie Raines (TX) 17:12, Caroline Alcorta (VA) 17:19, Allie Klimkiewicz (VA) 17:29, and Amelia Paladino (WV) 17:32.

  • Girls Championship Race: Anna Rohrer (Mishawaka, IN) added a new Foot Locker Midwest Regional course record to her growing résumé.  The fastest girl in Indiana State history as well as state champion finished in a blisering time of 16:56.  Freshman Taylor Werner (Ste. Genevieve, MO) crossed the line second with a time of 17:06 followed by Maria Hauger (Shakopee, MN) finishing in 17:07.  Other national qualifiers include Jordyn Colter (CO), Courtney Ackerman (IL), Anna Holdiman (IA), Hannah Long (MO), Kaylee Flanagan (IL), Bobbie Burgess (IN), and Melanie Nun (CO). Last year's national runner-up, Erin Finn, came across 12th
  • Boys Championship Race: Bismarck, ND senior, Jake Leingang, edged out Sam Wharton (Tipp Citty, OH), both finishing in 14:56.  Nicholas Raymond of Erie, MI, clocked in at 15:02 to finish third followed by Patrick Perrier (O'Fallon, IL).  Grant Nyzkaza (IL) finished fifth to return to San Diego after a 33rd place finish at Foot Locker Nationals last year. Other qualifiers included Samuel Prakel (OH), Ryan Kromer (WI), Connor Mora (MI), Scott Milling (IL), and Nicholas Elswick (OH).

  • Boys Championship Race: Nick Ryan (Fayetteville-Manlius NY) ran a huge race with a winning time of 15:27.  Mickey Burke (NY) came up big to finish 2nd with a time of 15:52.4.  Eric Holt (Carmel NY) was 3rd with a time of 15:52.7.  Manlius got the better of Saratoga Springs in the team race 86 to 98 as both will head to Portland next weekend.  
  • Girls Championship Race: Mary Cain (NY) won the girls race with a time of 17:42.6 and will look to win an NXN title next week.  Bella Burda (Arlington) was 2nd in 17:55.2 and Taylor Driscoll (Saratoga) was 3rd in 18:06.9.  Manlius rolled with a 13 second spread to win with 28 points and Saratoga Springs was 2nd with 59 points and will join them in Portland.

  • Boys Championship Race: Christian Brothers Academy (NJ) has a challenge as they win the boys team race with 73 points.  O'Hara (PA) was 2nd with 90 points and West Chester Henderson (PA) was 3rd with 95 points.  Don Bosco Prep (NJ) was 4th with 191 points.  Tony Russell and Reiny Barchet went 1-2 for Henderson with times of 15:51.7 and 15:55.8.  Colin Bennie was 3rd with a time of 15:56.9.
  • Girls Championship Race: Pennsbury (PA) decimated the field, scoring just 61 points to earn their first berth at the national championship.  Voorhees will also qualify with a 2nd place performance of 139 points.  Elinor Purrier won the individual title with a time of 18:09.4, Taylor Spillane was 2nd in 18:15.3 and Sarah Disanza was 3rd in 18:16.1.

Highlights

  • Boys Championship: Led by sixth place finisher, Connor Sheryak, St. Xavier (KY), took the team title with 87 points. Blacksburg (VA) beat out in a tie-breaker a Chantilly squad that was missing Sean McGorty who opted to run in the Foot Locker South regional. Jacob Burcham won the race by 10 seconds over Chantilly's top finisher, Logan Miller
  • Girls Championship: Wesley Frazier took the title, finishing in 17:17 to punch her ticket to Portland. Assumption (KY) won the team title by one point over Tatnall (DE). Bailey Davis led the victorious squad, finishing sixth followed closely by Katherine Recevuer who finished tenth. Without top runner, Sophie Chase, Lake Braddock (VA) finished fourth led by a runner-up finish by Hannah Christen. 

 

CIF State Cross Country Championships, CA

Highlights

  • Division 1 Girls: Sarah Baxter continues her incredible season with a new Woodward Park course record time of 16:40.  Baxter finished 30 seconds ahead of second place finisher Hagen Reedy. Great Oak picked up the team title scoring only 57 points!
