Nationals 12/3-10: Piccirillo+Wilson FL All-Americans|Ann Herman 42nd at NXN|Indoor starts

 

Angel Picarillo and Dustin Wilson take 13th in their respective races, both earning All-American honors.

Angel posted a 17:47 in a very fast field that had Molly Seidel (WI) from the Midwest as the winner in 17:22.

Dustin (15:29) faced a similar challenging, blistering field that ended with NJ's Edward Cheserek (14:51.5) nipping ahead of Futsum Zeinasellassie, IN (14.52.1).

DVGTCA Indoor Meet #1

 
 
Megan McGovern of North Penn and Maria Seykora of Notre Dame set a very high bar for the 3000 meter run in the opening meet of the 2011-2012 season. McGovern held off Seykora by .05 seconds, with both runners breaking the 10:20 mark. McGovern ran 10:19.43 for the win. Seline Tan-Torres of Methacton ran 2:18.95 to win the 800 meter run. Jody Ann Evans of Quakertown got off to a flying start in the 60 meter dash, running 7.65 to earn gold. In the relays, Swenson ran 4:05.31 to win the 4x400, Pennsbury ran 1:49.07 to win the 4x200, and Pennridge ran 9:43.97 to win the 4x800. In the field, Amanda Benninghoff of Council Rock South cleared 11 feet to win the pole vault, and Megan McCloskey of Germantown Academy cleared 5-6 to win the high jump.

300 meter hurdle state record holder Eric Futch got his season off to a nice start, running 23.14 to win the 200 meter dash. Aaron Willett of Coatesville ran 8.30 to win the 60 meter hurdles. Tyrek Edwards of Archbishop Ryan won the triple jump with a mark of 45-9.25. The big highlight of the event was a big shot put mark from Praduman Singh of Upper Darby. His mark of 57-8 was almost six feet better than the field!

In division 2, Ned Willig came flying out of the gates with a spectacular debut! Willig was the winner of the 800 meter run with a strong performance of 1:55.58! Drew Magaha of Upper Moreland won his first indoor race of the season, running 4:26.24 to win the mile. Mazmilian Hairston of Wissahickon ran 8.30 to win the 60 meter hurdles. Wellington Zaza of Upper Darby won the long jump with a mark of 22-4.50.

The Cedar Cliff duo of Olivia Loy and Katlin Gould both cleared 10-9 to top the girls pole vault. For the boys, Shawn Mayer of Palmyra cleared 14-6 to win the boys crown.
