The Hoka Night XC Showcase has a six-year history rooted in northeast Ohio distance culture. It ran for five years at Painesville-Riverside High School under a different name, where the all-time boys course record - 15:16.73, set by Landon Kimmel of Tippecanoe in August 2024 - still stands.

The meet has produced state champions and Division I recruits across northeast Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia, and its alumni include Nick Plant, the Virginia Tech legend who still holds Ohio's all-time Division I 800m state record at 1:48.65.

This year it moved to the SPIRE Institute campus in Geneva - a 750,000-square-foot elite sports facility on the south shore of Lake Erie. New course, new records to chase. Jack Steineman had the fastest time of all divisions running 15:27.15, while on the girls side, Gwen Huddle took the title in 17:38.52.
