The professional track season is winding toward its conclusion - the Diamond League Final in Brussels is two weeks away, the World Athletics Ultimate Championship follows the week after that. For high school athletes, the calendar has flipped entirely. Cross country season has begun, and the first wave of national results arrived this week from Michigan, Florida, Texas, South Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Colorado, and everywhere in between. Two weeks into September, the Brooks XC regional series begins. In December, San Diego. Everything between now and then is preparation. Here is the week.
