Humble High School's George Turner Stadium served as the backdrop for the 2026 USATF Region 12 Junior Olympic Championship, as athletes from across Texas descended on the Houston metro for a shot at qualifying for nationals.
Here are four of the top performers from one of the summer's most competitive regional meets.

Dominant from the first round to the finals, Williams needed just one event to make his case as one of the region's top sprinters. The lone athlete under 10.70 in the prelims with a 10.58, he carried that momentum into the final and crossed first in 10.62, holding off Jordan Byles (10.72) and TreVon Marion (10.79) to claim the 100m title.
Heading north to nationals after a strong showing in Houston, Wright secured her spot on the starting line in California with runner-up and third-place finishes in the 100m and 200m, respectively. In the shorter sprint, she clocked 11.97 behind winner Zyiah Ganaway's 11.94, pulling away from third place by more than a third of a second. The 200m was equally impressive, as she was one of just three girls under 25 seconds, running 24.99 to Zara Stephens' winning 23.62 and Ganaway's 24.52.
Among the busiest competitors of the weekend, McCart swept through three distance events, the 800m, 1500m and 3000m, and came away with two titles. His 1:56.45 victory in the 800m came by more than half a second over the field, and he followed that with a 4:01.31 clocking to double up in the 1500m. The 3000m was his only runner-up finish of the weekend, crossing nine seconds behind winner Luke Scarborough's 9:14.62, though he put over 30 seconds between himself and third place in the process.
Evans may as well have brought a broom to Humble, leaving with a pair of region titles after a perfect weekend. Individually, she won both the 400m prelim and final in comfortable fashion, running 56.01 to qualify before unleashing a 55.79 to claim the crown by over half a second. She also anchored the Athletic Performance 4x400m squad to a 3:52.18 victory, pulling away from second place by nearly two seconds.
