CHICAGO – Chicago State University sophomore Matthew Jordan (Suffield, OH/Field) finished off his successful campaign by setting a school record in the 10-kilometer race at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships on Nov. 13 in Peoria, Ill.

“A fitting end to an amazing season for Matt Jordan as he proved that he could truly compete at the Division I level. He operated like a machine proving both durable and unstoppable, said CSU distance coach Steve Powenski. “He has continued to raise performance bar and I look forward to guiding him during the upcoming track seasons.”

Jordan, a native of Mogadore, Ohio, crossed the finish line with a time of 32:39.38 in his lone 10K race of the season.

"Matthew's performance, simply put, was outstanding. Breaking our 10k record is a testament to his courage and determination, stated CSU head coach Wayne Holloway. “I'm starting to see those same traits in his teammates. Thanks Matt!"

Jordan captured his third cross country school record of the season as he twice set the CSU eight-kilometer record on Oct. 30 at the Great West Conference Championships in Edinburg, Texas and on Oct. 15 at the Bradley Cross Country Classic in Peoria, Ill.
