The indoor season is winding down, but some of the nation's top underclassmen are closing it out with their best performances of the year.
With major meets wrapping up across the country, several freshmen and sophomores delivered standout marks and record-worthy efforts in the final stretch of the indoor campaign.
At the AAU Indoor National Championship, Jordan took on the 60m and 200m double in her first appearance at the meet in Virginia Beach. In the 15-16 Division of the 60m, Jordan ran 7.75 in prelims before throwing down a lifetime best 7.73 to win the title. In the 200m, she dipped under the meet record, running 25.10 in prelims before finishing fourth overall in the final. Jordan also won the long jump with a mark of 18-5.75. Heading into the final weekend of the indoor campaign, Jordan sits at the No. 21, No. 28, and No. 11 spots in the 60m, 200m, and long jump amongst freshmen nationwide.
In his second trip to the NJSIAA State Indoor Meet of Champions, Ledgister competed in the 55 and the 200, finishing third in the shorter of the two and breaking the tape in the one-lap bout. He was the top underclassman in the field and the only underclassman in the final, running 6.32 in the final. Over 200, he defeated 16 of the best sprinters in the state, running 21.10 to win by one-fifth of a second. Not only did he claim both of New Jersey's sophomore class records, but he also became the eighth-fastest sophomore in high school history in the 200.
It was a remarkable year for the Ohio-based sophomore, as Huddle established PBs from the 800 up to the 2-mile. Last weekend, she competed at the 2026 OATCCC D3 Indoor State Meet, winning both the 1600 and 3200 in lifetime bests. Huddle won the 1600 in 4:53.50, becoming the only athlete in the field to break five minutes, and clocked 10:47.71 in the 3200 to win by 37 seconds. Huddle surpassed Hannah Neczypor's (North Royalton) sophomore state record of 4:54.38 set in 2009, and moved up to No. 10 all-time in Ohio in the 3200, becoming the 11th sophomore in state history to break 10:50.
Another week, another strong pair of performances for Clopton, this time taking care of business at the WL Individuals meet at Purdue University. The sophomore won the 55 and the 55H, while finishing runner-up in the 200. His winning times of 6.59 (55) and 7.45 (55H) were more than enough to secure both titles. His 200 performance of 23.17 earned a second-place finish, leading the way in a Raider 2-3-5 finish.
