Burks has been on a roll this winter, and he's looking to keep it going in Baton Rouge this weekend. Focusing on the 60mH while running a leg on the Blue Jays' 4x400m squad, Burks can keep his undefeated season over the hurdles alive and win his second consecutive hurdles state title (2025 110mH). In three of his last four races, he's run sub-8.05, nearly breaking 8.00 at the LSU Last Chance Qualifier, where he stopped the clock at eight seconds even. With over a quarter of a second between him and the rest of the field, Burks could break the tape while comfortably taking home the win. According to his MileSplit profile, Burks hasn't run a 400m in nearly two years, but signs say he's capable of running quickly.
