COROS MILESPLIT50 Preseason Indoor Track & Field Rankings:

Top of List

#1 - Natalie Dumas (NJ) - It's hard to believe, but Dumas never made the Indoor M50 list in 2025. She was good, but only comes back in the 5-10 range as a returner. However, based on her Outdoor Season last year, it's hard to deny she's the most anticipated athlete in the country to return to racing. Remove her 400H performance, of which there is little equivalent indoors, she still ran 2-flat for the 800m, and 51.14 for the 400m last year, over the span of two days, with two other races under her belt. She is fast, and can also deliver under pressure. She was the only athlete who legitimately gave Jane Hedenegren a challenge for athlete of the year in 2025. Flash forward to 2026, and that hurdle is no longer in her way.

#2 - Mia Maxwell (TX) - This Texan isn't wasting any time. While Dumas was ranked on where she was last year, Maxwell gets a bump because of where she is now. She opened her Season with a 44-6 in the Triple Jump, a huge mark, good for US #2 All-Time, just three-quarters of an inch off the National Record. That doesn't even take into account her sprint speed. She's the nation's top returner in the 100m with her 11.04, and the third top returner in the 60m with her 7.24. Her ability to conquer two very different events overpowers the typical notch against the Texans who compete sparingly Indoors. She has proved it doesn't matter, and any time she does compete, it'll be one for the record books.

#3 - Ataja Stephane-Vazquez (NC) - Off the podium at Nationals last year in the 400m, Stephane-Vasquez didn't have the pressure coming into this Season that others might have. It's allowed her to blow the doors off the National Rankings, putting together an incredible December Season. She started off December with a US Leader in the 500m, 1:11.84, tied for #10 All-Time. One week later, she dropped an incredible 36.93 in the 300m, good for #4 All-Time in the event, and faster than all but one performance from last year. Her name is now on the map, and it's well justified.
