The cross country season has come to an end and indoor track and field has officially taken center stage, but the final weekend of XC did not go quietly. It delivered fog, grit, and championship moments on one of the sport's most iconic stages. At Balboa Park, the inaugural Brooks XC Championships presented by Fleet Feet provided a fitting finale. The course was unforgiving, the competition uncompromising, and both races demanded patience, toughness, and perfect timing.
As the curtain closed on months of Golden Tickets, regional battles, and national showdowns, and the fog lifted, the message was clear: the 2025 cross country season saved its best for last. Just like that, indoor competition wasted no time taking the spotlight, with early-season meets across the country producing national leaders, record-setting performances, and statement openers that hint at what is to come this winter.
