Texas has always been one of the best states when it comes to distance running and this season has been no different.
The Lone Star State leads the way with three runners ranked in the top 10 of this season's senior girls rankings. Macy Wingard (Denton Braswell) ran her 16:30.00 US #7 two weeks ago at her district championship, while Laney Barnes (Cypress Woods) and Addyson Bristow (Canyon) set their season bests' in September. Michigan is the only other state with multiple senior girls ranked inside the top 10, which includes Emma Hoffman (Ostego) - the fastest senior in 2025, so far.
