* Brooke Lloyd ran a national lead in the 400m this past weekend
All corners of the country excelled at big-time and postseason meets over the weekend, as Texas hosted their regional championships, and the Kansas Relays brought the region's best to Lawrence, Kan.
The National Performer of the Week poll will close at 5 p.m. CT on Thursday, April 24, and the winner will be announced shortly after.
Take a look at five of the top-performing girls from last weekend in outdoor track & field.
This Week's Nominees:
Ryin Miller, Topeka-Seaman (Kan.): The junior was coming into her second Kansas Relays and was defending champ in the 3200m and the 1600m. On Friday, Miller pulled away over the last lap to run 10:21.78 in windy conditions. The next day, Miller had an incredible bell lap, chasing down Father Tolton Catholic senior Elyse Wilmes to win by one-third of a second. Miller closed in 64 seconds. She also anchored the Viking 4x400m relay in the final, splitting 58.12. After her busy weekend, Miller sits at No. 3 in state history in both the 1600m and 3200m.
Jessica Oji, Livingston (N.J.): In her outdoor debut, the University of Pennsylvania signee threw 53-11 and 152-8 in the shot and disc at the Red & Black Invitational. Oji won the shot by over 13 feet and won the disc by over 40 feet. The senior currently sits as No. 2 all-time in the shot put and No. 5 in the discus and could challenge the New Jersey record books again before it's all said and done.
Naomi Booker, Tomball (Texas): In the biggest race of her season, the junior took care of business to punch her ticket to the UIL State Championships. At the UIL 6A Region 2 meet, Booker swept the hurdle titles, winning all four rounds of the 110mH and 300mH. Booker clocked a wind-aided 13.23 and wind-legal 13.47 in the prelim and the final, extending her win streak to seven. In the 300mH, Booker cruised to a pair of wins, stopping the clock at 41.82 in the final, snagging a PB.
Brooke Lloyd, Humble Summer Creek (Texas): Make that six wins in a row for Lloyd, who has not lost this season in the 400m. This time, the junior went sub-53 for the third consecutive race and fourth time this season to punch her ticket to state where she's chasing her first state title. Lloyd has looked unstoppable throughout her outdoor campaign and as the only girl sub-52 more than twice this year, Lloyd is the favorite every time she steps up to the line for the rest of the season.
Celeste Robinson, Houston- Cyp. Ranch (Texas): The future Georgia Bulldog is having herself a proper senior sendoff. Robinson swept all four rounds in the 100m and 200m, notching wind-aided PBs in both event's prelims. She ran 11.20 (+4.3) and 11.28 (+3.4) in the shorter of the two sprints, and 22.81 (+5.2) and 23.28 (+4.2) in the 200m. Heading into the UIL State Championships, Robinson sits No. 4 and No. 3 in the 100m and 200m amongst the 6A field.
