A historically fast weekend left us with plenty of potential nominees for the third edition of the National Girls Indoor Performer of the Week. There were state records, national leads, and an overall plethora of all-time marks.
The National Performer of the Week poll will close at 5 p.m. CT on Thursday, January 23, and the winner will be announced shortly after.
Take a look at five of the top-performing girls from last weekend.
This Week's Nominees:
Lisa Raye, West Warwick (R.I.): It was business as usual for the future Texas Longhorn star, as the outgoing senior picked up two wins at The VA Showcase. Raye opted for the 60m and 200m double, notching PBs in a pair of star-studded fields. In the final, she clocked 7.26 and 23.39, the No. 1 and No. 2 times in the country this season. Raye is now the only Rhode Island high schooler to ever run sub-7.6 over 60m and sub-24 in the 200m.
Taylor Cox, Union Catholic Reg. (N.J.): For the fourth-straight meet, Cox won both rounds of hurdles, this time doing so at The VA Showcase in Virginia Beach. Cox established a new lifetime best in the 55mH, crossing the line as the clock read 7.53, the top time in the nation. Cox picked up both the win and a shiny PB as she surpassed one of the greatest athletes in the sport's history on the Union Catholic and New Jersey all-time leaderboard. In 2017, world record holder and Olympic champion Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone ran 7.60 over 55mH at New Balance Nationals Indoor, now the second-fastest time in state history.
Hannah Grace, Coastal Christian (N.C.): Three wins in as many tries for the University of Tennessee commit as Grace came out on top at the UCS Spirit National Pole Vault Summit in Reno, Nevada. Grace was the lone competitor out of 18 girls to clear higher than 13-4, winning the competition with a lifetime best jump of 14-6, the top mark in the country so far in 2025. Grace is now tied for the fifth-best jump in high school indoor history, and the No. 1 mark in North Carolina history. She is one of only two girls who have cleared 14-0 this winter.
Bayleigh Minor, Fort Bend Christian Academy (Texas): Before she trades in her green and gold uniform for a burnt orange one, Minor has one last track season to cement her legacy, and she's already doing just that. In her third race of the season, Minor won big at the Carl Lewis Invitational in Houston, running a national lead of 53.61 in the 400m. The senior is already second all-time in Texas history with a scorching 53.05 performance from last year and is now the only girl who has run sub-54 so far.
Emmry Ross, Unattached (Mich.): In her first race since finishing fourth at the MHSAA LP Finals in November, Ross ran her way to the 800m national lead at the Michigan High School Showcase, putting together a dominant win that saw her cross in 2:06.62, over three seconds faster than anyone else has this season. Ross' outdoor best is a blistering 2:05.87 from last year's New Balance Nationals Outdoor, and Ross is already knocking on the door of an all-time mark.
