At the always-quick Woodbridge Cross Country Classic, athletes and teams from around the country made their way to Irvine, California for the biggest meet of the season up to this point.
With national records, course records and too many personal bests to count, the 43rd edition of the historic meet lived up to the hype and made way for superb performances.
Scattered throughout the performances were over 100 athletes who made huge leaps from their times ran in 2023.
Leading the long list of improvers is Sage Creek's (Calif.) Gabriella Peters, a senior who had gone as quick as 17:28.7 this season.
Peters finished 26th overall in the Bob Day Girls Sweepstakes race, clocking 16:34.8, nearly 1:45 faster than her time as a junior.
Santiago Corona (Calif.) senior Rylee Blade won the fastest race of the day in 15:20, knocking 22 seconds off of her time from a year ago.
