As kids growing up in Kansas, cousins Riley Marx and McKenzie Fairchild played numerous sports. They were always staying busy and excelled in various activities.
Still, the two seniors at Andale (KS) High School are best known for their performances as throwers and top recruits in track and field, with each winning multiple state titles and earning college scholarships.
Fairchild will compete at Texas A&M, while Marx has signed with Kansas State.
They will each focus on the javelin, an event in which Fairchild is U.S. No. 6 (160-5) among girls and Marx is U.S. No. 9 (206-11) among boys. But they also have experience in additional events and starred in other high school sports.
