It was an eventful weekend for the Moses Brown School (RI) senior.

On Friday morning, Sophia Gorriaran ran the 800m at the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston.

LSU's Michaela Rose clocked a time of 2:00.18 to produce the third-fastest time in collegiate history while Gorriaran finished second in 2:01.16 to improve on her nation-leading time.

Just by looking at Gorriaran's resume, she has earned 10 all-time performances in the top 21 throughout her high school career in this event alone.

Later that night, Gorriaran committed to Harvard.

The following day, Gorriaran competed at the Millrose Games in the women's 600m and faced athletes like Ajee Wilson and Shamier Little.

She was able to cross the finish line in 1:27.51 to finish fifth against the loaded field. Her times of 1:27.02 from the 757 Showdown in 2021 and her recent performance this weekend are No. 2 and No. 6 all-time runs in high school history. She now leads the country by nearly two seconds in the three-lap race.
