A California state record-holder is headed to Oregon.

On Wednesday, Gardena Junipero Serra (CA) senior Rodrick Pleasant, a four-star football player and MileSplit's No. 2 ranked track recruit in the Class of 2023, announced his plans to sign with the Ducks on the opening of the National Letter of Intent signing period.

In football terms, the Ducks receive one of the country's top cornerbacks. Pleasant was ranked as the eighth-best cornerback in the country and a top 100 recruit according to the 247 Sports Composite.

On the track, it represents another huge addition to the Ducks' signing class, one that already includes sub-4 milers Connor Burns and Simeon Birnbaum, Tayson Echohawk and the country's top decathlete, Aiden Carter.

He chose from a list that included Oregon, Michigan, USC and UCLA, among others.

Pleasant, the nation's top returner in the 100m and 200m, told ESPN on Wednesday he could have graduated early and left in January, but that he wanted to go after 9.9 this season.

"I wanted to come back and have a chance at it."

Pleasant is the returning CIF state champion in the 100m and 200m. He ran times of 10.14 and 20.40 a season ago.
