SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- We only needed to take one step on the course at Balboa Park in San Diego, California on Friday to feel the excitement for this year's Champs Sports Nationals Cross Country Championships.
The entire field of boys and girls national qualifiers unloaded from the bus over the morning to take a closer look at the course and to plan where they will attack the 3.1 spread on Saturday.
MileSplit's Olivia Ekpone had a moment to catch up with a few athletes to discuss what they're looking forward to this weekend and what the current vibes are leading into the final cross country race of the season.
