Texas Runners Shine at HOKA/McNeil Invitational

* Isabel Conde De Frankenberg won the golds race at the HOKA/McNeil Invitational

Cedar Park's (TX) Isabel Conde De Frankenberg left her statement at the HOKA/McNeil Invitational this weekend at Old Settler's Park course. 

With some changes to the course this year, the heavy favorite for the UIL 5A Cross Country Championships was able to snag a US No. 1 three-mile performance with a 16:39.30. Conde De Frankenberg was the only girl to dip under 17-minutes on this course. 

Sara Morefield of Lucas Lovejoy (TX) was the second-fastest girl on the course with a 17:13.30 and Melissa's (TX) Abigail Bass crossed the line in 17:21.40. 

In the boys gold race, there was a battle between Austin Vandegrift's (TX) UIL 6A defending state champion Kevin Sanchez and Lubbock Monterey's (TX) David Mora, the third-place finisher at the UIL 5A Cross Country State Championship. 

It was a foot race down to the finish as Sanchez grasp the title in 14:24.10 and Mora finished six seconds behind in 14:30.30. Jack Boyd of Klein Oak (TX) was a half step behind and finished with a 14:33.50 performance.
