At the Hopkins Bauman/Rovn Invitational on Friday, history was made at Gale Woods Farm.

The man behind the action was Noah Breker

Breker set a new personal best, broke his own Robbinsdale Armstrong (MN) school record, broke the meet record, broke the Gale Woods Farm course record and ran the fastest 5K ever on Minnesota soil with a 14:57.20 in Minnetrista, a small suburb west of Minneapolis.

He surpassed Olympians Obsa Ali, Hassan Mead, and Elliot Heath for the in-state record.

3Hassan Mead14:58.709/8/2006
4Elliott Heath14:58.909/8/2006

What's interesting is that Mead and Heath ran their best performance at the same meet years ago. Looking deeper into the history books, Breker became the fourth Minnesota boy to run sub-15 minutes 5K.

The No. 25 runner on the MileSplit50 preseason rankings won the race by 20-seconds and earned himself a 191 speed rating for his efforts.

In the girls race, Sydney Drevlow was the only girl to break 18-minutes for 5K with a 17:33 and earned a 140 speed rating.
