When the NC State women landed a recruiting class which featured high school stars like Katelyn Tuohy (NY) and Marlee Starliper (PA) back in 2020, it felt like the Wolfpack may have attained the best distance-centric women's recruiting class in history. 

But in 2022, the Stanford women landed another that was arguably just as good, maybe even better, than what NC State had previously assembled. Except this time, Stanford's rookie group -- comprised of the World U20 champion at 800 meters, Roisin Willis, and high school national record holder Juliette Whittaker -- held a much stronger (and more elite) middle distance influence.

After an overwhelming haul of star-studded middle and long distance recruits, it would have been understandable if the Stanford coaching staff eased off of their recruiting efforts in 2022.
