Distance

The North Rockland (NY) graduate took girls high school distance running to previously unseen heights.

Tuohy set four national records during her storied prep career spanning 2016-2020 -- the outdoor mile (4:33.87, 2018), outdoor 3,200m (9:47.88, 2018), indoor 3,000m (9:01.81) and indoor 5,000m (15:37.12). The current N.C. State talent won the individual crown at Nike Cross Nationals twice, along with four titles across the indoor and outdoor one and two mile events at New Balance Nationals.

She's maybe the best distance talent to take to the track since the age of Mary Cain almost a decade ago. Perhaps in part thanks to Tuohy's barrier-breaking performances, we're now seeing high school girls record elite times across distance events in droves like we've never witnessed before.
