Performance: Murphy's progression over the last month alone in the 400mH is quite impressive.
The sophomore opened the season with a 1:06.71 at the Randolph Relays on April 30, but has steadily dropped that time in each meet since, culminating at the NJSIAA Sectionals Group 4 meet with a 1:01.77. Along with her win in the 400mH, Murphy garnered a second place finish in the short hurdles, clocking 15.63 in the 100mH final.
Her 400mH time ranks her first in the class of 2024 rankings and eighth nationally among all grades in the event. With more experience could come even more significant improvement as Murphy continues on with her high school career.
