There was no better rise in the ring in 2022 than Elijah Jackman's.
The Tigard (OR) High School senior, who was, at best, an average thrower as a junior in 2021 -- claiming a personal best mark of 150 feet, 2 inches -- absolutely shattered his expectations a year later, hitting for a career best 193-2 throw in April. He followed with an Oregon Class 6A title just a month later -- part of two state titles on the day for the thrower.
That all-time throw landed Jackson a U.S. No. 15 mark overall. But more importantly, his PR also was a 43-foot improvement year-over-year.
Only four other athletes had bigger improvements than him this spring.
What did it all mean? Jackson recently earned a scholarship offer from Montana State, and now Jackson is hinging his bets on track over his college future ...not football.
Check out the full list of year-over-year improvements below.
