VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA -- West Chester Henderson's (PA) Jenna Mulhern had a little left in the tank on Saturday at adidas Track Nationals.

And with just one lap remaining in the girls 2-mile championship, she made a move on Angelina Perez, taking the lead and never giving it up en route to the overall win in 10:03.86.

Mulhern unloaded for a final lap of 36 seconds, scoring a new U.S. No. 4 time. Perez, meanwhile, was second in 10:07.43, posting her third straight sub-10:10 performance in recent weeks -- that span also included a NJSIAA Meet of Champions win and a third-place finish at New Balance Nationals Indoor.

Mary Grace Hegberg, a senior at Arlington Heights St. Viator High School (IL), was third in 10:36.67 while Maddie Gardiner was fourth in 10:49.75 and Audrey DeSantis was fifth in 10:51.81.

Caroline Murrell was sixth in 10:53.11 and Vanessa Alder was seventh in 11:05.01.
