Brentwood Academy's Mensi Stiff inched closer toward her goals on Saturday at Nike Indoor Nationals, improving upon her personal best shot put as she claimed a national title with a winning mark of 52 feet, 8.75 inches.

That throw, a new U.S. No. 1, put Stiff at No. 9 all-time -- just under five feet away from the national record of 57-5.5 -- and put her at No. 2 for juniors, behind Alyssa Wilson's 54-11 from 2016.

Stiff, now the Tennessee state indoor and outdoor record holder, has said that she wants to ultimately finish her career with a national record. Her indoor mark is a Tennessee best by just over eight feet.

Her performance this weekend surpassed her former best of 51-10.75, which came in February at the state championships.

Ole Miss recruit Tarik Robinson-O'Hagan Doubles, wins two at Nike

---

There isn't much that Tarik Robinson-O'Hagan hasn't done this season.

This weekend, he doubled at both Nike Indoor Nationals and New Balance Nationals Indoor and earned three wins and a runner-up finish.

Still, he wasn't satisfied.

"We were supposed to come down here and take all four golds but unfortunately I only have three. But my good friend beat me today, so I'm not mad. I'm happy for him. That's my guy (Max Klein)."

Robinson-O'Hagan claimed a new weight throw best -- and a new U.S. No. 1 -- with his mark of 85-00.25 at Nike Indoor Nationals. He threw 68-3.25 in the shot put.

At New Balance Nationals Indoor, he was second in the shot put with a mark of 65-2.25 and was won the weight throw in 81-11.5. He finished the season with the second-best combined shot put and weight throw season of anyone in history, only behind Jordan Geist.

Interestingly enough, he got just one throw in the sector in the shot put at NBNI. The next five were all fouls.

"There's definitely fatigue, but that's no excuse. I fouled a lot of big throws. So all I have to do is finish my throws and rotate and stay in the circle."

HS For Construction senior Michael Pinckney also doubled over the weekend, finishing fifth in the shot put and second in the weight throw at NBNI and eighth in the shot put and second in the weight throw at Nike Indoor Nationals.
