The girls teams are completely stacked with talent.

Looking closer into the teams, there's a possibility that three of Colorado's best cross country teams can sweep the top three places in the gold championship race.

Niwot, ranked No. 3 on the MileSplit50 rankings, had one of its best performances at the Desert Twilight XC Festival where the Cougars' top five runners earned speed ratings over 131.

A few meets later, the Cougars grabbed the Colorado Class 4A State Championship title.

Meanwhile, Arapahoe and Cherry Creek are ranked No. 5 and No. 6 on the MileSplit50 rankings, respectively.

Arapahoe edged out Cherry Creek at the Colorado Class 5A State Cross Country Championships. It won't be an easy feat, as Buchanan (CA) and Newbury Park (CA) might have something to say about that.

Buchanan is coming off a strong CIF Division I State Championship, where it edged out Newbury Park in the standings.

According to the MileSplit XC team averages, Niwot has a 5K average time of 17:23.34, while Arapahoe is at 17:45.34 and Cherry Creek has an 17:47.04 average.

Buchanan has a best of 17:49.04 and Newbury Park has a 17:56.32 average.
