With the second edition of the RunningLane Cross country Championships returning to Huntsville, Alabama this December, we decided to break out the all-time list at John Hunt Park.
A pristinely surfaced course with wide throughways and just enough elevation to make any XC athlete dig in, the course has provided some of the best cross country running over the past year-plus.
Two years ago, with renovations complete on JHP, athletes competed on it for the very first time.
But it wasn't until the Southern Showcase and RXC in 2020 when records started to drop, with Ethan Strand running 14:36 in September and Parker Wolfe following with a meet and course record 14:26 in November.
A total of 35 athletes have broken 15 minutes on the 5K course in its history. But RXC2 is set to be bigger, better and even more thrilling, with the nation's top teams and athlete expected to compete.
