The Scoop: Records And Big Performances Top The Weekend



One of the top teams in the country had a standout performance at the 50th annual Guilderland Invitational at Tawasentha Park.

All season long, the Saratoga Springs girls have been winning their dual meets and invitationals in the northeast region. 

Once again, the squad came together to take the victory in Altamont, New York. Saratoga Springs swept the top seven places.

Sophomore Emily Bush led the pack with an average 5:47 mile and clocked a 16:34.77 for three miles. She was the only girl who broke 17 minutes at this distance.

Ella Kurto and Sheridan Wheeler finished second and third with a 17:07.74 and 17:11.97 respectively. Mackenzie Hart, McKinley Wheeler, Alycia Hart, and Anya Belisle grabbed the fourth through seven spots. 

The Blue Streaks finished with a 17:07.30 average. 

Bush's performance equaled a 144 speed rating and each of the top five girls finished above a 127.
