The Bowdoin XC Classic will be a good look at some of the Northeast's top teams.
This course is hilly and challenging, so don't expect any crazy fast times. But regardless of the times, this race will have some implications for later in the season because it's the course preview for the Team Northeast and Team New York Region qualifying meets.
One of the most anticipated teams to watch will be the MileSplit50 No. 16 ranked squad from Christian Brothers Academy (NJ). This will be the team's first full 5K race -- not in a dual meet -- for 2021.
Another boys team to watch will be Corning (NY).
The New York team has competed twice already this year. Its first race was at the Bob Goodell Memorial XC Invitational, which Corning won with 22 points. The team's second race was at the Pre-States McDaniel-Baxter Invitational, which it also won with 84 points.
Other teams who could mix things up this weekend are New Jersey No. 7 ranked Summit High School, New Jersey No. 8 ranked Westfield High School, New Jersey No. 19 ranked Don Bosco Prep and Connecticut's Xavier High School.
The girls race will feature New Jersey No. 1 ranked Ridgewood High School and New York No. 4 ranked Corning.
