The Marion Invitational provided some fireworks in Indiana this weekend.

MileSplit50 preseason No. 10 ranked Izaiah Steury from Angola High School faced off against Brebeuf Jesuit Prep School's lead runner Krishna Thirunavukkarasu.

Steury would earn the win in 14:55.70, but Thirunavukkarasu wasn't far behind, finishing in 15:00.40.

Thirunavukkarasu led the way for MileSplit50 No. 7 ranked Brebeuf Jesuit Prep School, while his teammate Matteo Rosio finished third. Even with those two athletes being such low sticks, the team ended up placing third behind Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran High School (IN) and North Central High School (IN).

Brebeuf Jesuit Prep School had a 3 minute and 4 second 1-5 Split and a 16:30 average. Both Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran High School and North Central High School had 1-5 splits closer to 50 seconds.

The good news for Brebeuf Jesuit is that it still has two guys who can help close that gap in junior Ezra Burrell and sophomore Cameron Todd. Neither Burrell nor Todd competed this weekend. Adding those to guys back in the lineup, Brebeuf Jesuit starts to look pretty solid.

In the girls race, Delta High School's (IN) Nicki Southerland clocked the fastest time of the weekend,  running 17:28.20. She finished nearly 20 seconds ahead of second-place finisher Mia Robillard of Centerville (IN). Chesterton High School took the team title scoring 90 points.
