For today's Flashback Friday we're going all the way back to the 2012 Cheyenne Mountain Stampede.
In 2012 then Air Academy (CO) freshmen Katie Rainsberger won the Cheyenne Mountain Stampede 4A DI Race in 19:58.6. That same season Rainsberger went on to place second at both the Colorado State Cross Country Championships and at the Team Nationals Southwest Region meet. She capped off a huge freshmen year with a 13th place finish at Team Nationals.
Rainsberger competed in the US Olympic trials earlier this year and recently became a professional athlete training with Team Boss in Boulder, Colorado. This year the Cheyenne Mountain Stampede will be held on September 9th, 2021 and MileSplit will be on the ground with coverage.
