Franklin Field brought back some great competition over the weekend at the Penn Relays Summer Series presented by Toyota.

In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Chante Clinkscale won both the 100m and 200m. In a solo effort, she clocked 11.78 and 24.77, respectively, to win the events. This was her first victory since winning the OHSAA Division II State Track and Field Championships.

She was the only athlete in the field to break 12-seconds and 25-seconds in the sprints. Clinkcale graduated from Niles McKinley (OH) and will attend the University of Dayton in the fall.

Wesley Noble Jr. of Bishop Loughlin (NY) ran to a personal best in the boys 400m when he crossed the finish line second behind Julian Klenner with a 48.25.

The sophomore ran his second 48-second quarter of the season and he became the third-fastest athlete from New York in this event. He has another opportunity to drop even more time at the AAU Junior Olympics in Humble, Texas later this month.

In the girls 800m, Katie Dallas ran the third-fastest time of her season. It came down to the wire as she made a final push at the finish line to grab the title from Maggie Hock. Dallas crossed the line in 2:14.06.
