Consistency has been key for Kamyren Garrett. In his last six high jump competitions across the indoor and outdoor seasons, he's cleared at least 7-feet.

This weekend at the Lawrence Central Invitational in Indianapolis, Indiana, Garrett made a huge leap. He not only became US No. 1 in the high jump, but he also set a new personal best of 7-3.

Looking at the all-time list, Garrett ties for US No. 22.

The Kansas State commit became the third-best performer in this event from Indiana. Garrett is an inch away from the state record, which is held by Nathan Patterson of Plymouth. Patterson cleared 7-4 back in 2018 at the state championship.

For many, this shouldn't be a surprise.

Garrett ended his indoor season on a spectacular note. He became the adidas Indoor National champion when he cleared 7-2.50 and tied for US No. 12 all-time. This was the highest performance of the season by two inches.
