Texas Area Meet Produces Two US Top 5 200m Times


The UIL Class 6A, District 23-24 Area meet produced two of the top wind-legal 200m times in the nation on Thursday. 

Alief Taylor High School's Tyler King led the field, running 21.06 (+0.2) seconds for a new US No. 2 wind-legal time. Just behind him was Clear Lake High School's Julian Humphrey.

The junior ran 21.17 (+0.2) seconds for a new US No. 3 performance. For both athletes, the times were new PRs. 

King's previous season-best was 21.50 seconds (-2.4), while Humphrey's was an all-conditions effort of 21.26 seconds. So far they are the fastest two times in the MileSplit database for the week.

Humphrey also advanced to the region meet in the 100m with a second-place finish, hitting an all-conditions 10.73. King was part of Alief Taylor's 4x100m team that took home first in 40.93 seconds
