Belen Jesuit Preparatory School senior Javier Vento has been on fire so far this outdoor track season, and this weekend at the Dunbar Tigers Classic he added a new US No. 2 time in the mile to his resume.

The University of Florida signee ran 4:09.26. He adds this to an already stacked portfolio of top-ranked national performances.

Two weeks ago on March 15th, he ran a 9:06.55 for 3200m at the Belen Home Meet 3. He followed that performance up with a strong 1:54.71 in the 800m at the IMG Spring Break Invitational on March 20th. Those times rank US No. 9 and 29 respectively.

The top two one-mile athletes in the nation now hail from the state of Florida. Nease High School's (FL) Rheinhardt Harrison holds the US No. 1 time of 4:06.01 from just last weekend at the Set Goals Not Limits Distance Showcase.

Vento wasn't the only miler to have a big day. The rest of the field at the Dunbar Tigers Classic also showed out.

Satellite High School's (FL) Joe Wester took home second running 4:11.45 for US No. 4, while IMG Elite's (FL) Cole Piotrowski and Nease High School's  (FL) Bradley Anderson Ball finished third and fourth respectively running 4:12.78 and 4:13.93. Their times rank US No. 6 and 7.
