The 200m indoor national record-holder was winning off the turn by nearly half of a step. Coming down the homestretch in the last 100m, Slade continued to execute long strides while Bromell had the quick turnover.
Slade won the race over the former Baylor Bear when he crossed the finish line in 20.27 (+2.5). Bromell finished just .02 behind the junior. Slade's performance became the No. 6 all-time in the 200m for all-conditions.
