The possibilities for some extremely prolific times on the oval for 5,000 meters is highly possible at Adidas Indoor Nationals, so as a result we're taking a look-back on the overall best performances at the distance over the last decade in both the girls' and boys' national fields.

Current US No. 1 athletes at the distance in 2021 include James Bennett's (MD) Timothy Synowiec, who authored a time of 15:18.90 in December, and Lakewood Ranch's Jessica Neal, who produced an effort of 18:31.45 over that same stretch.
